Hi,
if you don’t plan to support or develop new versions, why don’t you make the current version open source so others can take care of it?
Finally, there’s a new version of twibble mobile, and it’s free again! And it has some new features including
Check out the twibble mobile page for details.
Why is it free (again)? Well, I am starting a very exciting new job in a couple of weeks. There won’t be much time to support and develop the software. For this reason there won’t be any new versions of the desktop version, too.
Best, Thilo

4 thilo // Jun 18, 2010 at 21:23

5 n_h_sarja // Jun 19, 2010 at 04:33
Now in 1.1.1 if its a long tweet it says unauthorized! Creating tons of problem regarding 1.0.3

The new twibble (using oAuth) should work fine. However, it seems twitter has some major performance issues due to the world cup. That’s why they postponed the deadline for ‘the OAuthcalypse’ until August 16. There’s not much I can do, I’m afraid. You can still use the old version of twibble (using Basic Auth) until the switch.

Hello, seems menu subdialogs like Show userpics, Show username on map etc doesnt work on UIQ3. Click on them and nothing really happens. Thanks.

I have been looking forward to see your new and improved version of twibble and I’m glad to have found it today. I always love your app albeit a small avatar and 10 tweets limit.
I would like to say thank you very much for what you have done, especially allowing >10 tweets in the latest version. That’s very kidn of you.
Wish you all the best for your new job,
Regards,

it freezes when i start it and save options, but 1.0.3 works fine i just hate that i can only fetch 10 tweets, can you please make the full version of 1.0.3 available for download, thanks
10 thilo // Jul 4, 2010 at 11:17
the 1.0.x versions like any other twitter clients based on Basic Authentication will probably stop working after twitter’s switch to oauth. As for the crash have you tried to uninstall any previous twibble installations first?
11 thilo // Jul 4, 2010 at 11:18
@milkykung thank you!
12 milkykung // Jul 4, 2010 at 14:10
@thilo
You are welcome ^.^ I’m glad to see you are still active in here. I really want to follow you on Twitter but I could not find your account anywhere. Do you have any twitter account at all? It is great to get in touch with a well-known programmer like you and to see what you are up to.
Anyway, please feel free to check out my tweets. They might be of interest and you will find that many of them are tweeted from “twibble”.
Take care

heys, would i still be able to modify my re-tweet before posting? I can’t seem to find that option. I would love to add my own comments with my re-tweets =D
14 milkykung // Jul 14, 2010 at 20:57
@lin
Well, it is sad but true that there is only the new-style Re-tweet ONLY in this version. It does not allow you to add any comments
I also found that Twibble sometimes failed to send my tweet with an “unauthorised” status. This happens to me whenever I type special characters in my tweets, if I’m not mistaken. I’m not sure about others
Cheers,

Hi,
I really like this app and I’m glad it’s free again, however I am not receiving that many tweets
.
But I found a problem uploading pictures to Twitpic. My cam can take photo’s that get a size of > 1mb. Those cannot be sent and Twibble crashes with a Java Memory Exception.
Another bug I found while uploading pictures but also is a bug with normal tweets, is that the ) and ( are not possible to tweet. Pictures get uploaded to Twitpic, but don’t appear on Twitter. Normal tweets with ( or ) end up with an ‘unauthorized’ message. More testing revealed that more (but not all) special characters don’t get through, as @milkykung already wrote.
Anyway, I’m perfectly cool with how the app works. Hope you find time to fix some minor bugs!
16 milkykung // Jul 15, 2010 at 07:56
@lennertc Thank you very much for your info. At the very least, I’m not alone in discovering these bugs.
It is also good to know that Twibble has some bugs in Twitpic too. I’ve not tried that myself, but will keep my eyes on that.
Cheers,

And who bought? Will be left behind?
18 Nogwai // Jul 19, 2010 at 11:17
Sometimes when i try to tweet something twibble says “unauthorized”
19 milkykung // Jul 19, 2010 at 14:32
@Nogwai Does your tweet contain any special characters like * ~ ☼ ♫ and so on. This is because @lennertc and I observed that too.
Hope the author checks this page out once in a while.
Cheers,

When I try to tweet an image via a twitpic, it uploads to twitpic but it doesn’t tweet to my account.
What am I doing wrong?
Kev
21 BlythMeister // Jul 21, 2010 at 20:08
I cannot get any tweets on this new version, i don’t see any errors. When i refresh timeline it doesn’t even appear to connect to the internet.
Please help
Second to this, i would love this to become open source, let the community carry on the app
22 Ben // Jul 25, 2010 at 03:47
I also have the “unauthorised” problem when I try and tweet, the new version is pretty much useless.
23 Daniel // Jul 25, 2010 at 11:43
Love Twibble!
However since the upgrade I’m also sometimes getting “Unauthorized” when tweeting. Haven’t worked out any particular pattern to it, but it occurs perhaps about 50% of the time.
24 flxi // Jul 25, 2010 at 17:37
Hi.
In verison 1.1.1 Receiving is nice.
But sending to twitter does not work. I always get “Unauthorized”. That’s weird.
25 n_h_sarja // Jul 26, 2010 at 11:49
Still using 1.0.3 , its the best, used 1.1.0 after the initial release,oh, that had some bugs, hope 1.1.1 is working fine
, i’m a die hard twibble fan!
I specially like the geotag mobypicture upload on the go directly from mobile, its really cool, I manage my on the go photoblog by twibble
26 Greg // Jul 28, 2010 at 20:00
I 2nd the idea that you opensource twibble, so it doesn’t die a “sorely out of date” death as time passes. GPL or even MIT/BSD license (unless java has it’s own type of license, idk).
27 milkykung // Jul 29, 2010 at 19:29
@Kev_ball
I have got the same problem. Twitpic does show the pic but nothing is posted to my twitter page. This is definitely a bug lol
Cheers
28 thilo // Jul 30, 2010 at 16:03
thx all for the suggestions. I just uploaded a new version which should fix some oAuth encoding problems. However, twitter still seems to have some performance issues when it comes to oAuth. When you get the ‘unauthorized’ occasionally message press ‘*’ to reload. Usually this helps. Maybe this explains the ‘twitpic’ problem, too.
29 Artemy M. // Aug 26, 2010 at 11:56
Really, i really appreciate your application, and if you get a job and will have no time to develop twibble, why not to opensource it?
