setup hints for twibble mobile
This post describes how to turn off the security warning dialogs in twibble mobile 0.9.14. The screen shots are taken on a Nokia N95. The procedure will differ between the various devices.
1) after installation of twibble mobile open Applications->App. mgr.

2) open twibble from the list of installed applications

3) change the permissions. E.g. setting ‘Read user data’ to ‘Always allowed’ will prevent the annoying file selection warning to pop up when uploading a pic to twitpic or Mobypicture. You can also set a default access point and allow network access. In that case twibble starts up very quickly with no confirmation dialog at all.

You need the latest version which has been signed.

Latest twibble software, fresh install on the BB, updated to 4.5, yet it errors out w/ “Unauthorized”, uname/pwd”. I am not going to play this game for long.

Getting the same thing as Jesse- Using twibble on BB Pearl Flip 8220. Have set all permissions to “allow” but still getting “Unauthorized.” Have restarted phone several times to no avail…

@thilo, now on 9.15 and still same 80000019. Thumbnail browser gr8 tho, just have to clear my 700pics down! Takes ages..could we have a toggle on/off shortcut key?
10 thilo // May 30, 2009 at 10:55
@SteveR strange, never heard about a 80000019 error … Does it work on a different network (wifi, carrier)?
yepp, twibble needs some time to generate the thumbs. I let my cam save the pics into different folders every day to keep the number small. Would that be an option?

Now, using version 9.15, my Nokia N95 8GB th option “Allways allowed” in combination with “Read user data” does exist, as alle the other options.
Thanks. Without this setting the Pic Browser would have been a kind of ‘disaster’ tu use.

Ooops … Trying to use the PicBrowser with the correct settings I complimented you about in my previous response, it does net yet work as expected. It is possible now to adjust the settings as discribed above, but in spite of that I still do have to permit every single picture before I can see them and select the one I want to use. So something is not yet as it should be on my cellphone.

Updated to version 9.17. Now PicBrowser works as discribed. Opening the image folder I now only have tot choose “show all thumbnails” and they are showed. Again a quick correction ! Thank you. Good work.

On my Nokia E71 it doesn’t work. I still get these annoying security dialogs. Anything known for my handset?
24 Ryan // Jul 8, 2009 at 20:13
Nokia E50: Error “this site has sent an untrusted certificate. Continue anyway?” continually pops up, even after I’ve changed these settings.
Fail.

App Manager is in Tools not Applications on N95.

I’ve just installed twibble on my Nokia 6600i slide (s40) and it works fine. Only trouble is, I get the pesky security warning dialogs ALL the time. Also, i’m a noob and can’t find the application manager, IF there’s even one, that is. How can I turn the dialogs off? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Oh and the “hide” button doesn’t work as well, which kind of defeat the purpose of having a twitter client if one wants it to run in the background.

Since the latest update (8 okt), twibble is not remembering my settings like username, pass, how often twibble should check for updates and so on.
I followed all the steps, including the right settings in application manager.
Can someone help me?
31 thilo // Oct 10, 2009 at 11:18
@Letty have you tried a fresh install of 1.0.2 (remove any twibble installations first)? Does twibble fetch tweets correctly after you entered and saved your credentials (press on ‘*’ or ‘u’)?
32 Letty // Oct 11, 2009 at 11:55
Pressing “*” made it work (and remembering) again.
Thanks a lot!

I cannot get this to function properly on my E51 – It bugs me every time with the “allow application twibble to use network and send receive or data?” message, and on top of that, it asks me TWICE which access point I want to use.
I want to buy this app, but I am not paying good money for something that doesn’t work properly yet. This app may claim to be version 1, but it still runs like beta software. I’ll be glad to fork over my license fee the minute the software runs without glitches.

I have successfully downloaded and installed the latest version of Twibble on my Nokia E72. I can only send tweets with a maximum of 8 characters! If I write longer tweets it says “Unauthorized”. All my network settings are set to “always allow”. Something else must be wrong as I can only (??) send short tweets and receive tweets.
