@Blackberry thanks for the hints! However, some folks still seem not to be able to switch off the network permisson dialogs on their BB. Is there something else to consider?
As for the running twibble in the background, what is the exact problem? Is there something meaningful in the log?

In order to make the permissions work on the Blackberry everytime (instead of having to allow it every time you run it) you have to turn on the Firewall.

Do this from:
Options -> Security -> Firewall -> Status: (change from Disabled to Enabled)

Take note that every application that uses the network will prompt you to set a rule now. However, once that's done, you'll never hear from them again. Do it once, and all the apps run wonderfully.

However, Twibble will still not run in the background correctly.

In version 0.8.5 at a Nokia N95 with the last version 30.something if a change the period of fetching tweets to 0 instead of 10, the next time i try to start twibble won't open, the screen will stay with de normal background of the mobile and the title of twibble but nothing else, and the buttons won't work, just the red one to shut down all twibble.

can't seem to append images on e71... Log shows no errors, tried clean re-installing, no joy.

Also, when u select append picture, then click 'no' on 'access phone data', the screen goes blank with no way to return to the previous screen. Hope this helps :)

@JRendell please make sure the time period for fetching tweets is not 0. In this case twibble doesn't attempt to load tweets and the screen stays blank until you reload manually
