How’s about laying off the Google map stuff and sorting the full screen that hides your network and mobile connection status? That would be cool, it’s a damn mobile. Otherwise keep going, I like the “yeah!” when it tweets.

There is good and bad news for the weekend. The bad news: The recent change in the twitter API which currently makes the ‘Earth Button’ in twibble desktop quite useless has not been reverted yet. As you know the button is supposed to display the geocoded timeline of your friends in Google maps but right now you wont see much. We hope we will get the function back. If you’re interested you can follow the loooong discussion in the twitter dev group. Here are some comments by staynalive.
The good news: twibble mobile reached Version 0.7.9! It has some bugfixes and should be resistant against duplicate tweets. You can grab it via the update menu in twibble mobile or navigate to http://m.twibble.de (on your phone). And finally, here’s a great hint by @9600baud to get twibble running on your PDA! You will definitely like his twitter background picture

Thanks for developing this application – I use it on my phone all the time. The only problem is that twitter has been having so many problems lately that I haven’t been able to use twibble on my phone as much as I’d like. Any chance of adding friendfeed support in the future?

@Joseph I completely agree. It’s not too much fun in these days to use twitter (and to develop something on top of twitter …). It seems you’re not alone. I really hope the twitter guys will make the system (including API!) more stable soon (right now it’s down again). We will also have a closer look into friendfeed! thx

I just updated to the latest version (and coincidentally got a new phone – Nokia E71).
And Twibble is acting a little odd, it’s only showing @ShaolinTiger messages and not all tweets from users I follow (I’ve tried switching the filter view with 4 – it’s the same for both DM/@ and normal – both only show @ messages).
Also when I want to send a tweet, it detects the field as numeric..so when I start typing only numbers come out. It was fine was on my E61i previously, perhaps some issues with the new phone?

@ShaolinTiger I had similar problems today since the the twitter API just didn’t returned the tweets. To get the replies is another API call that worked fine (as well as direct messages). Unfortunately twitter has some problems in these days. Let me know if the problem still persists.
As for the numbers I actually have no idea. Maybe your phone is in some sort of number input mode? Does it only happen in the twibble app?

Ah ok that’s cool I get you it’s making 2 API calls and only one was responding. Re the numeric thing I have no idea why it does that, the previous model E61i was fine..and yeh it only happens in Twibble app the rest of the time it’s normal.
